We invite you to join us in Grace for Recovery. It does not matter why you
come, nor does it matter where you are in your recovery. Addictions and self-destructive
behaviors come in many shapes and forms. Some involve substance that enslaves
or a behavior over which we feel we have no control.
Whoever you are and wherever you have been, you are a person of infinite worth
because God created you and because He loves you. Many of us have been where
you are and know how difficult it is to take steps into recovery.
It is our prayer that by sharing our experience, strength and hope, you will
experience the amazing healing power of Jesus Christ. We would be priviledged
to walk with you as you discover the fruit of the Spirit in recovery.
What is Recovery?
Recovery is the entire process of healing from painful effects of self-destructive
patterns of behavior that sabotage the soul. In a larger sense, everything in
the Christian life is recovery. Think of it this way: God created us with a
purpose. Sin warped and twisted that purpose. Recovery is the process of restoring
what sin has taken away.
Recovery means becoming the unique human being that God designed us to be and
living a Christ-honoring lifestyle that meets teh needs that we tried to satisfy
with our addictions and compulsions.
Recovery is for everyone. For some of us, it is specialized.
You Are Not Alone!
The truth is that many people who deeply love God and desire to live for Him
struggle with addictions and compulsive behaviors. Surrendering to Christ and
drawing on His strength with the support of others, like ourselves, allows us
to grow.
Grace for Recovery offers the oppurtunity to join with others
who have similar struggles. Together we can experience the life-changing journey
into recovery and restoration. This Christ-centered program utilizes Christian
principles of recovery. It involves attending meetings, participation in the
mentoring model of personal accountability and discipleship, and doing the written
and verbal work to apply the principles to our daily lives.
