TOT Garden Check-In Procedures

totOn your first visit, please complete an enrollment form. Prior to enrollment, your child will be given a two-part temporary nametag with an identification number. The ID portion is affixed to the child's clothing while the claim portion must be presented to the teacher when picking up your child. Please keep the claim portion handy since your child's number will be displayed on the screens in the worship center should your child need you. Parents in a classroom will be located by a Ministry Representative.

Once your child is enrolled as an attendee, you will be able to check in quickly at one of the computer terminals located on the main and lower levels. The touch screens will display your child's name and print an individual name tag and claim tag for that day. You may then proceed to the classroom and simply drop off your child.

We ask that all items be labeled with your child's name - diaper bag, bottles, pacifiers, cups, coats, etc. Ideally, pacifiers should be connected to the child with a child-safe cord. We appreciate you taking the time to label items prior to dropping off your child.

Alert the caretakers of any allergies! If you have indicated an allergy on the ID tag, please affix a red sticker, located at each computer terminal, on the tag as a reminder for the teacher. We provide graham crackers and water for snack.

Children will be released only with the corresponding tag of a parent or guardian.

TOT Garden Promotions

promotionsChildren will be promoted the first Sunday after their birth month. For example, a child who will turn 3 on November 19, will move from the Strawberry or Blueberry Patch to the Plum or Pear Orchard on the first Sunday of December. The tag printed at the computer terminal will automatically indicate the promotion on the first Sunday. Children moving out of The TOT Garden into The Preschool Ministry will be promoted the first Sunday after their birth month.

TOT Garden Safety & Health

Great care is given for safety and health procedures to ensure the well-being of your child.tot_safety

Our child-to-worker ratio is maintained as closely as possible. A minimum of two caregivers oversee each room. Youth 13 years or older may volunteer in the Pumpkin, Cabbage and Strawberry Patches. Youth 12 years and older may volunteer in the Blueberry Patch or the Pear, Plum and Peach Orchards.

Nursing mothers are always welcome in the "Sweet" Pea Pod, a private room equipped with rocking chairs and a TV monitor of the worship service.

In order to provide a healthy environment for your child, we ask that you keep your child home if he or she exhibits any of the following symptoms:

  • Fever or Vomiting
  • Discharge in or around the eyes
  • Green or yellow runny nose
  • Excessive coughing
  • Diarrhea
  • Questionable rash
  • Any communicable disease

No medications will be given under any circumstances.

For your protection, we ask our Caregivers to follow these same guidelines.
