SURFzone
SURF stands for Students Uncovering Real Faith. It's based on Hebrews 12:2, "Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God." This combines the water theme of the Jr. Hi (Oasis) with the Zone idea from children's ministry.
The five purposes are:
1. Honor. Committed to honoring God - heartfelt devotion
2. Grow. Passion to know God - spiritual growth
3. Connect. Respect for all people - healthy relationships
4. Serve. Serving people in need - compassionate service
5. Reach. Impacting the world for Christ - life-changing impact
