Children's Staff
Hundreds of people serve in children's ministries in a variety of roles: head teacher, assistant teacher, care teacher, substitute teacher or teacher's helper. We ask each person to complete a Volunteer Packet (Adult Questionnaire, Minor Questionnaire, Background Check, Pastor/Teacher Reference, Friend/Co-worker Reference, Church Acquaintance Reference) to help insure doctrinal integrity and personal competence. Youth are welcome to participate in some ministries. Youth assistants who have completed a training class are assigned as helpers in some classes.
Enrollment
Every child who attends must be enrolled. This helps us track the spiritual journey of each child as well as any special needs and interests. In addition, when a child is enrolled we have information that will assist us in contacting a parent if necessary. Enrollment forms are available from a teacher, at the TOT Garden Welcome Center (located in the TOT Garden Suite, main level), or at the Children's Ministry Welcome Center (located on the lower level near the C.E. office). Children's Ministry Welcome Center
Parents will find helpful information here about our ministry to children, including the Parent Handbook detailing guidelines and procedures. The Welcome Center is located outside the Christian Education Office (Room 43) in the red hall on the lower level.
Parent Information Center
Parents will find Parenting Tips, as well as program schedules and information on the bulletin board and in the literature racks located outside the Nurseries (Rooms 70-74) located in the green hall on the lower level.
TOT Garden Welcome Center
Located on the main level outside the Nursery Suite (Rooms 113-116), the Welcome Center will provide information about the ChildCheck Security System as well as program details.
Safety and Security Issues
We have taken steps to make Grace Church a safe and secure place for children of all ages. The Children's Ministry staff is instructed to follow policies and procedures designed to provide a safe environment.
Children enrolled in the Early Childhood Program and Preschool Ministry will check in and out at the ChildCheck computer terminals. A paging system allows us to notify parents by displaying the child's ID number in the worship center if needed.
