Revelation Part 2 (Chp 11-22)
Revelation is the most controversial book in the Bible; yet a promise of blessing is made to the reader, “Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy.” (Rev. 1:3) How will events in the Middle East and Jerusalem lead to the Second Coming of Christ?
In our detailed study of Revelation (chp 11-22), we will answer these questions and more: ~ What future events lead to Christ’s return? ~ How will events in Jerusalem affect the world? ~ What role will Islam play in the end times? ~ Who are the Two Witnesses in Revelation? ~ Is satellite TV mentioned in Revelation? ~ What is the mark of the beast? ~ What is the Millennium? ~ What will eternity be like?
If you missed the Part I, reviews and make-up notes will bring you up to speed. The class will approach Revelation from a “futurist view.” We will use Tim Lahaye’s Revelation Unveiled as the class guide. Lahaye is the author of the Left Behind series. Book available - $12. Notebook and class binder fee - $5. |

I & II Timothy
These letters were written by the aged Apostle Paul to Timothy, a young man about 20 years old pastoring in the church in Ephesus. In Paul’s own words he tells us why he wrote, “I write to you…so that you will know how one ought to conduct themselves in the Household of God which is the Church.” Come and study with us as we tackle this very practical, personal, and honest letter on the issues of living the faithful Christian life inside and outside of the walls of the Church. |

Spiritual Transformation Class
In his letter to the Galatians, Paul tells these 1st century Christians to continue to grow in the faith “…until Christ is formed in you.” The word Paul uses in this passage comes from the Greek word morphoo – it’s the same root word that describes the process of becoming a butterfly – metamorphosis. As Christians we want to continue to grow in the faith – each day becoming more like Jesus.
Practicing spiritual disciplines is simply engaging in activities that will give God a chance to work in our life. Each week we will survey a different spiritual discipline such as prayer, fasting and worship as well as not-so-obvious disciplines like solitude, study and simplicity. We will be challenged to practice that specific discipline as a way to connect with Him on a deeper spiritual level. The companion reading for this study is Kevin Stirratt’s book, So this is Faith. At the core of all the spiritual disciplines is the example of Jesus Christ. If Jesus believed these disciplines were important to practice, shouldn’t we? Book available - $13. |

Christian Conduct
We are bombarded with information in the world we live in today. As Christians we need to seriously consider our sources of information. The Bible is key in giving solid data to move in today’s world. “The man, who looks intently into the Word and continues to do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it, he will be blessed in what he does.” This year our sermon series is about reading the Bible. In this class we will read, write and discuss the book of James to affirm the practical aspects of Christian conduct. Bring your Bible along with a desire to seek a deeper understanding. This class is open to women & men. |

Welcoming the Stranger Workshop
According to Dr. Timothy Tennant, President Asbury Theological Seminary, “The immigrant population actually presents the greatest hope for Christian renewal in North America”. If this is true, how should the church respond to the growing number of immigrants and refugees flooding into our cities? The Bible shows us two responses: surrounding them with the love of God or isolating them out of fear of our differences. The Welcoming the Stranger workshop covers both responses, seeking to persuade the church that God has a plan for those He has brought to our cities and it includes using the Body of Christ as His hands and feet. This course includes material from the Welcoming the Stranger curriculum provided by World Relief. |

God is Calling You to Ministry! (The Church, Part 1)
Do you feel God might be tugging at your heart to do something special for His kingdom? Are you unsure if that call is from Him? In 1 Peter 2: 9, the Apostle Paul tells us that we “are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special people” (TNIV). In other words, all believers in Jesus Christ (the Church) are called to ministry. For some of us, that is vocational ministry (pastors, youth directors, music ministers, missionaries, etc.). For others, it is lay ministry which can take a myriad of forms. What is important to understand is that all Christians are called to some kind of ministry and a call to ministry can come at any age. In a 5-week class we will define the call to ministry, teach you how to recognize a call and have it confirmed, show you how God equips His people for ministry, and discuss how to put a divine call into action. Along with an overview of the call to ministry, a guest speaker (or speakers) from a variety of ministry backgrounds will share his or her call story each week. Handouts will accompany every session. |
